DMU Services will travel on the Codnor Park Branch. All other services will
travel to Riddings.
A DMU Service will run from Swanwick Junction along the Swanwick Colliery Branch

EVENT FEATURES
Over 100 Locomotives of various gauges on display with over 25 in operation over the weekend.

Intensive timetable including trains over the Codnor Park Branch and for the
first time ever over the Swanwick Colliery Branch.
Cinema Coach showing railway films*:
Main Line Diesel (LMS 10000)
This pioneering film shows the development and operation of the joint LMS
and English Electric main line diesel locomotive number 10000. Scenes show
construction at Derby Locomotive Works and operation on the Midland Main Line.
The Apprentices
This film portrays the induction and training of diesel traction drivers and
features many local scenes in and around the Derby area. The film was shot by
Central Television in the 1980's at a time when the new generation of Diesel
Multiple Units were allocated to Derby.

Golden Valley Light Railway Cavalcade on all dates at 3pm.

These exhibitors have confirmed their attendance but the Midland

PHOTOGRAPHIC DISPLAY
There will be selection of historical photographs depicting scenes at Derby
Locomotive Works displayed in the Midland Diesel Hall.
AIRCRAFT FLYPASTS
On Sunday 24th August at 13.10 there will be a Spitfire Flypast.
On the same day the RAF Red Arrows will perform a flypast at roughly 11.00am on their return from an event in Surry
to their base at RAF Scampton, although there will be no formal display.
RAILWAY COMPETITION
A free to enter competition will operate as part of the event for which the
first prize will be two tickets for the Mid-Day Midlander Dining Train.
Competition entry forms will be available from Butterley Booking Office.
RAILWAYMAN'S RE-UNION
UPDATE
On the evening of Saturday 23rd August, a railwayman's re-union will take
place at Swanwick Junction. A Diesel Multiple Unit service will operate from
Butterley Station at 7.30pm with return journeys during the evening. A real ale
bar will be open in Swanwick Junction platform. This re-union is open to all railway men
and their friends and families who have association with either Derby Locomotive
Works or Carriage and Wagon Works both past and present.
Special Note
Please note that on Saturday 23rd August an incoming rail tour from Woking will
be visiting the Midland Railway Butterley and in view of this the timetable on
this date is liable to change.
